Oklahoma City Thunder Profile

Team Ceiling

NBA Championship – No other option here, OKC is made to repeat the title. Let’s see who can face them this year. As of today, 20-1 of record. They are unstoppable

Team Floor

NBA Finals – Unless a lot of people get injured or some black magic is done to this Oklahoma team, their floor is reaching the NBA Finals again. They are on another level.

X-Factor

Jalen Williams – We know Shai is consistent. Pure consistency. Now, if Jalen comes back fully recovered and starts being consistent too, there’s nothing that any other team can do to them. I’m not going to say it will be easy, but they have played 20 games without JDub and they won 19. And he’s just entering his 4th year in the NBA. What a great second option for the Thunder.

Bust

? – We can’t call no one a bust here. Even when we think they can’t find any new players that can step up, they do. They have just built one of the greatest teams in history in terms of rotation, capacities, physicality, chemistry…

Dark Horse

Ajay Mitchell – And yet again, when we thought: “this is what OKC has for this year, will they defend their championship?” they found yet another key piece for them. Ajay Mitchell has surprised everyone. One of the current candidates to the MIP award if they give it as they used to. He’s been sensational while JDub was away and has earned a spot in the lineup too for this year.

Even with all the pieces that Mark Daigneault has, he always find the way of finding new great players, putting them wherever they need to improve, to fill any gap that is missing either offensively or defensively.

There’s nothing much I can add to what we are already seeing. This a great team, with great chemistry, great, young players that are made to win the NBA again and again. For the sport, it might not be entertaining, but for the good sake of the NBA history, hopefully they can stay healthy and can break as much records as possible. Even if it means watching them win for 3 or 4 years straight.

Once this dynasty is done, there will be a lot of players that will become the third, second or even first options in other teams. And that’s thanks to this organization.

P.D.: I’m not a Thunder fan, but what they are doing is something worth giving credit to.
